Oleg Ilgizovich Khusaenov was born in Kostanai, Kazakhstan. Entrepreneur, founder of the private equity fund management company “Zubr Capital” and car dealer “Atlant-M”.
From 1988 to 1990, he worked as a distribution engineer at the Minsk Refrigerator Plant. In 1990-1991, he was a director at the “Atlant Youth Production Center”. In 1991, he got involved in the car hauling business and in October of the same year he transformed the “Atlant Youth Production Center” into the “Atlant-M” brokerage house (which became an auto dealer firm). From 1991 to 2011 he was the General Director of “Atlant-M”. In 1994, he signed a dealership agreement with Volkswagen Corporation, allowing to sell cars in Belarus. In 1997, “Atlant-M” received an offer from Volkswagen to build a dealership in Moscow. In 1999 – to buy out an importer in Ukraine. Since 1999, the company has been represented in three countries – Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. In 2011 “Atlant-M” was included in the “Top 500 largest companies in Central and Eastern Europe” of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu organization. In 2011 he became Chairman of the Board of Directors of this company.
In 2010, he founded “Zubr Capital”, a company managing private equity funds; the main goal of the company was to bring the car dealer “Atlant-M” out of crisis and then transfer the management of the company to co-founder Sergei Savitsky. Zubr Capital manages two funds: SMH (which includes such companies as “Atlant Telecom”, “AtlantConsult”, MTBank); Zubr Capital Fund I (SoftClub company).
Married. Has 4 sons and a daughter.
Since 2013, he has been the head of the Minsk Rowing Association, having been a candidate master of sports in this discipline since his student days.
He is famous for his collection of modern Belarusian art, which includes over 400 paintings by such notable Belarusian artists as Ruslan Vashkevich, Valentina Liakhovich, Siarhei Hrynevich, and Aliaksandr Dosuzhev.
